Tea Talk is a meme ‘for heart’s sake,’ says host Ruth at Celebrate Friendship.
Participants share how they are feeling and what is on their minds. The objective is to spend a few minutes to inspire the self and others.
Today I’m having hot mocha in a white cup, or is this a mug (?). It is pictured in one of my favorite places in Bangkok – Dasa Book Cafe.
I’m feeling sleepy. Late nights are taking their toll on me. But there are so many things to do that I have to fight off sleep for another six hours or so.
On my mind are Southeast Asian insurgency speeches I need to review and analyze, deadlines and an important email to an international tribunal consultant I haven’t even started to draft yet. My brain is screaming rest.
Times like these take me back to days when life was slow and one form of relaxation was accompanying my mother on the piano while she sang her favorite songs. One in particular sustains me in my crazy job right now –
“Rest to the weary, peace to the soul; though life may be dreary earth is not thy goal. Oh lay down thy burden… I will not forsake thee though all else should flee”
Hazel, you do sound busy! Please find time to get some rest.
I love the white mug.
Blessings,
Christine
I do enjoy a good Dan Brown book!!! Rest well when the time comes!! My best to you!! Cathy
Hi Hazel.
Thanks for sharing (again) your tea time here @ Tea Talk. Your hot mocha looks yummy.
I enjoyed my visit tonight. Like Christine, I also hope you get more rest this weekend.
Blessings!
Hello Hazel~on my way out, but wanted to thank you for having tea with me. I’m so glad you have peaceful memories with your mother. I hope one day you will be able to share such memories with a little of your own. I think the gift of “remembering” is something we take for granted sometimes.
When I am really busy I lower my expectations and hopes for what I want. In other words, if I really want a good nights sleep but I know that I won’t get it for a while…then I take a true break (maybe 10 minutes) and I cherish it and make it as restful as possible. Then, I can move on to the next major task at hand.
God bless you.
Thanks for sharing your tea time! Looks like we had the same “mocha” choice this week.
Have a great week!
